What better season to bring out all the DIY projects than summer? Summer is usually a time of celebration. The kids are out of school, the sun is out, and well, it’s basically the season of barbecues and parties.
For all these summer parties, you’ll need summer props! This may include a huge margarita pi??ata, an outdoor movie theater (who needs the drive-in), or even a noodle boat that’ll help carry all your drinks in the pool.
Summer is the time to be creative and engage in projects and activities you don’t have time for during the rest of the year! Check out some of the fun DIY projects below.
#1. Watermelon Mason Jar
If you’re having friends come over for drinks, transform some mason jars into watermelons to put your drinks into. Just use green twin to wrap the bottom, black paint to make the seeds, and fill the jars with a pink drink!
#2. Giant Beach Ball Message
Make a plain giant beach ball with a message on top of it! Make it a message you want everyone to read, for example: “good vibes only.”
#3. Mini Bonfire
Enjoy making s’mores without the actual pit fire by making a mini one out of a terra cotta pot. A portable fire that you can put on any table top.
#4. Flower Crown
If you’re attending a summer music festival or just simply a flower child by heart, try creating your very own flower crown using your own favorite flowers. All you need is floral tape, floral wire, floral glue, and of course the flowers!
#5. Shell Hair Pins
If you’ve got a collection of beautiful sea shells and have no idea what to do with them, try gluing them to your bobby pins to create shell hair pins that’ll make you feel like a mermaid.
#6. Tropical Fruit Manicure
Draw/paint tropical fruit designs onto your nails to keep them festive to the time of year! You can make them uniform or paint each nail differently.
Make a mini teepee that your kids or maybe even pets can hang out inside of. Use various fabric patterns to create a cool look!
#8. Squirt Gun Painting
Replace the water in a little squirt gun with some water paint and squirt away at a canvas to create an abstract masterpiece! A fun project for both adults and kids.
#9. Tropical Drink Pinata
If you plan on hosting a summer party, what better way to greet your guests than with a ginormous tropical drink pinata. Make sure you have the margaritas ready after your guests see this thing!
#10. Tree Swing
If you have a tree in your backyard, build a swing to hang off that tree! Just connect wooden planks together with nylon rope. It’ll be an addition to your house that both kids and adults can use.
